Tools and standards for Safety assurance

Monday 10th October 2005 The August Safety Critical Workshop had 2 themes:
- TOOLS for Safety Assurance (including tools used for security and mission-critical systems)
- STANDARDS (including updates to MIL-STD 882E, DefAust(5679), UK DefStan 00-56 and IEC 61508)
Kevin Anderson will be discussing these topics and more.
Knowledge of the tools and standards associated with safety assurance helps to broaden everybody’s perspective of software quality.

Kevin Anderson
Kevin Anderson specialises in transportation and environmental hazard and risk analyses and computerised risk and facilities management information systems. He is the co-author of ‘Risk & Reliability – An introductory text’( http://www.r2a.com.au ). Kevin is immediate past Chairman, ACS National Technical Committee Safety Critical Systems and Software, and Secretary of the Australian Safety Critical Systems Club.
Kevin has spoken at several of our past meetings, including the 2003 Christmas debate.
