Webinar: (Re)Defining Boundaries for the Measurement of Business Applications in a Changing Environment
Presenter: Graeme Prescott, Commonwealth Department Education, Employment and Workplace Relations
Graeme Prescott is employed by the Australian Government, in the IT Program Office of the Employment Systems (application development) and relationships Group of the Department of Education, Employment and Workplace Relations (DEEWR). He is the only CFPS in the department, and one of only 2 in the ACT. He is the principal function point counting resource and responsible for mentoring and managing the sizing activities of over 30 (trained) project team based, part time, counters. Over the last 14 years he has also practised his craft as part of the metrics programs of Australian Customs (as both a Customs and an EDS employee), Telstra and the West Australian Department of Land Administration.
When Graeme is not managing the DEEWR project sizing process he moonlights as a mentor and administrator of the Departments MS Project enterprise based project tracking and management reporting program.
In this presentation Graeme explored the various ways business environments change, and how you might plan for and cope with these changes. He illustrated his presentation with a number of war stories drawn from his years 'in the field'.
