He has extensive experience in business and process improvement and is a proponent of OODA (Observe/Orient/Decide/Act) for accelerating decision making and agility. He has consulted for over twenty years across software intensive industries including aerospace, defence, engineering, transport, mining, utilities, finance and government.
James has been involved in building organizational management systems and getting clients assessed and appraised using ISO9001, CMMI (L3,4,5), ITIL, and SCRUM. He has assisted clients improve their project management, development capability and operations by focusing on solving the RIGHT problems (and not just symptoms).
James has presented at numerous conferences and workshops in areas such as business improvement, software metrics, risk management and quality. He has served on industry boards such as ASMA, SQA, and was involved in editing the ISO9126 Software Product Quality standard. James holds a Bachelors degree in Informatics, a GradDip in Software Quality and an MPhil in Software Quality.
