Scope Management for Adults - A 12-Step Program for ICT Projects

Pekka Forselius, MSc, MBA, CEO, 4SUM Partners, Finland
Senior Advisor of Finnish Software Measurement Association FiSMA. Pekka developed the Experience? Pro data-collection concept and is the product manager of Experience? Pro software. Researcher and developer of project management methods and concepts, including northernSCOPE™ (Scope Management) and KISS Functional Sizing. As research associate at INSEAD since 1996 and at University of Brunel since 2003, his research specialty is organisational learning, in particular corporate memory and benchmarking. Since 2000, is the primary representative of the national body of Finland to ISO/IEC JTC1/SC7 standardisation working group WG12, Functional Size Measurement. Also President of the International Software Benchmarking Standards Group (ISBSG), a member of the executive committee of the COSMIC consortium and past board member of the Finland Information Processing Association (FIPA). Co-author of two books: Tivi-projektien johtaminen (ICT project management, TTL, 2005) and Practical Project Estimation, 2nd Edition (ISBSG, 2005) and also co-author of chapter 5 of Applied Statistics for Software Managers.
Carol Dekkers, President of Quality Plus Technologies, Inc., and partner at 4SUM Partners, USA
Business partner and seasoned northernSCOPE™ scope manager, as well as an internationally recognized expert on software measurement, scope management, estimating and international standards. Ms. Dekkers is a practicing professional who holds designations as a Certified Management Consultant (CMC), Project Management Professional (PMP), Certified Function Point Specialist (CFPS) and a Professional Engineer (P.Eng.). Carol is the project editor to ISO on Functional Size Measurement (ISO/IEC JTC1 SC7 WG 12), a current U.S. delegate to ISO SC7 Software Engineering (since 1994) and a technical advisor to the International Software Benchmarking Standards Group (ISBSG) . She was the President of the International Function Point Users Group (IFPUG) Board of Directors in 1998-1999, Chair of PMI Metrics SIG in 2003 and a member of PMI Leadership Institute LI’04. Carol is a member of the American Society for Quality (ASQ) Software Division council, and track chair for the annual Congress – Software Division track. Recent visiting scientist for measurement with the Software Engineering Institute (SEI) at Carnegie Mellon University and frequent presenter and trainer at metrics and quality conferences.
